Shipping an update does not help if the product whispers about it in one easy-to-miss place. Version 1.3 moves update visibility into both surfaces people already use: the menu bar and Settings.
It also fixes a basic expectation for a menu-bar app. Opening Agent Callout manually should open something you can see.
The update follows you into Settings
When a newer version is confirmed, the Settings sidebar footer becomes an Update button. The existing menu-bar row remains, giving the same action to people who arrive through either surface.
The available version is remembered across relaunches, and the first feed check happens shortly after launch, so visibility does not depend on keeping the app open for hours.
Manual launch and background launch do different jobs
A manual launch now opens the Settings window. Automatic login launches stay quiet, preserving the background behavior expected from a menu-bar utility.
That distinction removes a confusing dead end without turning every restart into an interruption.

Delivery is part of the feature. Important state should appear where someone is already looking, and a launch action should honor the intent behind how the app was opened.
We will keep judging product visibility by normal behavior, not by whether a determined person can eventually find it.
